In this lesson I’ll show you how you can hide and highlight individual objects. In this way, their visibility can be changed without using special layers.
I have already opened the corresponding example, so I can show you that there is only one layer on it. Regardless, there is a possibility to hide or separate certain elements, so I will first enlarge the segment that represents the bathroom. Now I can click on the icon called Isolate located in the lower right corner of the screen and choose Hide from the menu. If I then select all sanitary elements and press Enter, they will disappear from the screen. I will press Enter again to repeat the same function and in the same way remove what I missed at first.
Now you must be wondering where all these objects have gone? As you can see for yourself, the layer on which they are located is not frozen or turned off, but the selected elements are located in a special Buffer that is used to accommodate hidden and isolated elements of the drawing.
The Isolate command works in a similar way. I will run it through the command line and go to the part of the drawing that represents the kitchen. If I now select the appropriate elements and press Enter, everything else will be removed from the screen, which means that this function has the opposite effect of Hide. In practice, it is used in situations where you want to select the elements you need and temporarily remove everything else from the screen.
To return to the normal state, it is necessary to start the Unislotate function and press Enter. After that, everything will be returned to its place, including the elements that I previously hid using the Hide function.
These functions can also be used in reverse order. In order to prove it to you, I will first use the Isolate option and single out all the kitchen elements. If after that I still feel like there are too many objects on the screen, I can use the Hide function and remove the things that bother me. To return to the normal state, it is enough to start the End Object Isolation function from this menu and display the complete drawing again.
