Windows 11 New Features
About Lesson

Windows 11 supports the use of high dynamic range, or HDR, for both streaming video and gaming. In this lesson I will show you how this can be achieved. I will first click on the Start button and immediately launch the Settings function. Then I can look for the Display option and finally start the HDR function. Before I set the parameters related to HDR, it is necessary to select the appropriate device ie. the screen I’m currently using. As you can see, on my computer it is labeled Display 1, Internal Display, which is the only possibility in this case. On the other hand, if you have more than one monitor, it would be best to select from this list the one you will use for gaming and set its parameters. The following section shows data related to the technical capabilities of the selected display (Display capability), so you can easily check whether it is capable of supporting certain requirements. In this case, HDR is not supported, but at least there is an option that allows its use (Use HDR). The last thing I would like to show you are the options related to energy consumption ie. battery status (Battery options). For normal use, it is common for this parameter to be optimized for the longest possible battery life, but there is an option to select the maximum image quality (Optimize for Image quality) instead. Of course, all this makes sense only if you use a portable device such as e.g. A laptop computer or tablet.
