About Lesson

My new online store is almost ready. I have successfully set up my products, set up payment parameters, arranged delivery, calculated tax and much more. However, before new orders start arriving, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to check once again how this all works in practice.

To that end, by simultaneously pressing the keys Control + Shift + N, I will open a new section and in the so-called Incognito mode. If after that I open the site where my online store is located, the system will treat me as a new visitor, which means that my previous involvement will not have any effect on its basic functions.

Now I can select several items and check that they are displayed correctly. It seems that everything is fine with these vitamins, because in addition to the basic information, additional information is available to me and there is also a section with customer reviews.

This means that I can go to the next step and view the entire order in detail by selecting the View cart option. As you can see, it includes all selected items, and if I go down a little, I will be able to add delivery costs to the basic price. This information is calculated automatically, which means that I only need to enter the appropriate information (state, city and address) and click the Update Totals button. After that, it won’t be difficult for me to choose the option that suits me best and calculate the total value of this order (Cart Totals).

Now I’m expected to click on the button labeled Proceed to Checkout and go to the checkout section. As you can see, on the left side there are fields intended for entering customer data, so I will use the opportunity to complete them and check whether they will automatically be used to send information about new products (Subscribe to our newsletter). These data can also be used to open a new account, so I will first activate the option called Create an account and enter my password (Account password) in the corresponding field.

Now that I’m done with that, it’s time to check how the payment works. As you can see, I currently have three options available, which means that I can use my card, use the funds in my PayPal account or do it through the bank (Direct Bank Transfer). Since my Stipe account is still in test mode, I will opt for the first option and confirm that I am familiar with the valid conditions by choosing the last option. Now I just need to click on this big yellow button and enter the data from my card. I will use the number used for testing, and the same applies to the expiration date and the control code. As soon as I click on the Pay button, the system will automatically check whether this transaction is feasible and display a page confirming that the entire procedure has been completed successfully.
